Bristol Train of Artillery button 6 Years, 11 Months ago
Found this in an old Chicago park last weekend at about 7 plus inches. I was thrilled with the beauty of it and am even happer seeing how much history it represents. Here is what I know about it.

Rhode Island button, Bristol Train of Artillery, D Evans Attleboro

Button depicts "BTA", an eagle over a cannon, and "1794". Bristol Train of Artillery, Bristol, Rhode Island, was organized in 1794 and served during the Civil War as 5th Brigade Rhode Island Militia.. Backmark: "D. EVANS & CO. / ATTLEBORO MASS" dm between two solid rings, ca 1850's 1860's, (Evans10). Two part convex button, coat size.

Not for sale but would love to know what it would be worth.

Here is a pic of the back side of the buton. It's missing the shank, it looks to my untrained eye that the shank might have been fixed sometime in the past.
